Tier II kits for Marine Engines: OceanAir successfully developed, tested, and applied level III kit on a tug boat operated by Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company in Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach. The program was a joint effort with Port of Los Angeles. The kit was applied in March 2010. The marine vessel has been successfully operating in the harbor with no reported problems. The kit comprises of high compression pistons, low oil consumption rings, specialized mechanical injectors with tailored injection, fuel valve, special liners and coated pistons, special valve seats. The engines covered are EMD 12 and 16-645E2/E6. The kit meets Tier II emission standards of 40CFR94. 2. Nano Reactor for Biodiesel Production: This uniques patent pending technology is capable of producing ASTM D975 compliant biodiesel in matter of few seconds continuously utilizing feedstocks with FFA< 5%. It has been tested for virgin vegetable oils and tallow. A 10 million gallons/yr biodiesel production reactor skid occupies 10 ft x 8 ft x 6 ft space with no vessels. It employs the principles of hydrodynamic cavitation to generate very high reactor temperature on nano sized molecules that result in quick and instantaneous reaction. Very low utilities requirement, runs on electric motors. The components include methanol pump, catalyst pump, feed pump, two stage high pressure pumps, cavitation nozzles, two packed towers, and a control modules cabinet. Request quote and detailed information 3. Castor Beans Production Research For Biofuels Production: OceanAir in a cooperative research program with USDA under CRADA and Texas Tech University staff began test of fourteen different available species of castor beans to evaluate yield of oil and growing techniques. A test plot of approx. 30 acres was planted in Hermosillo, Mexico. Test results available for interested parties. Yields as high as 4 tons/ha on two cycle growing basis, uniform flower and beans production for mechanized harvesting, Castor oil itself can fetch as much as $1,200-1,600/ton in open market. Castor oil is used in cosmetic industry, aviation lubricant, chemical industry, and preservative. Castor biofuel has very low CFPP (minus 5 to 12 deg C), making it suitable for winter grade blend. Write for further information and cooperative program. 4. Biodiesel and Synthetic Diesel Production Consulting: OceanAir owned and operated one of the first biodiesel production refinery in Lakeland, Florida with integrated gycerine refining. The plant was designed with 10 million gallons/yr production capacity with two stage process. Stage A handled high FFA material >4% with counter current plug flow reactor for acid esterification and stage 2 handled material less than 5% FFA with base esterification. The glycerine refinery centrifuges, separators, and evaporator to purify and refine raw glycerine to industrial/pharma grade. The biodiesel produced met ASTM D975 specs. The plant processes yellow grease, recycled oil, virgin vegetable oils, off spec oils, fish oil, poultry oil, and salad oil. The plant also completed a study funded by National Renewable Energy Lab for the production of biodiesel from trap grease (brown grease). The plant was sold in late 2003 to focus on biodiesel feedstock and production processes research and development for a fully integrated refinery. OceanAir offer consulting services for production and operation of biodiesel and synthetic diesel. OceanAir is currently evaluating several processes for the production of synthetic diesel from waste tires, green waste, brown grease through pyrolysis and hydrogenation. OceanAir can provide contract operation services. 5. Product Validation Emissions Testing: OceanAir pioneered five mode emissions testing cycle tat can be quickly deployed to provide an order of magnitude validation of any emission reduction device. OceanAir applies the device on the diesel truck it owns and performs baseline and control test to determine efficiency of a given device. Device tested included several fuel additives, catalytic converters, fuel conditioning systems, and alternative fuels. Ii is not certification level testing for mobile sources, however, it can give developer a fairly good idea whether or not the device is going to produce desired results if tested at certification level later. The quick very low cost test can save owners hundreds of thousands of dollars that will be wasted if the device failed in a certification test. Contact OceanAir for details. OceanAir has helped clients through certification level testing and CARB/USEPA certification program as well, as well as TUV cert. 6. Emissions Trading: OceanAir’s trading business is divided into two parts Part I – Conventional buy-sell option where OceanAir purchases credits in the open market for resell Part II – Creation of emission credits through application of technologies OceanAir has helped several clients that were facing tough uphill battle to get their plants permitted due to a lack of emissions credits in the bank. OceanAir worked with unconventional sources to create emission reductions which were then converted into saleable credits that allowed the billion dollars plus projects to mover forward. OceanAir’s projects resulted in the creation of marine vessels credits rule in San Diego and South Cast AQMD. OceanAir was the biggest trader in 2001 and 2002 in the emissions trading market trading almost $40 million dollars in credits. OceanAir is currently working on a major program to develop PM emissions credits from existing sources. OceanAir has also traded MSERC (under Rule 2202) for SCAQMD created through emissions reduction resulting from implementation of low emissions repowers of marine vessels 7. Project Management Services and Training Complete turn key services that include identifying the technology, obtaining of grants, and selection of vendors, design of installation, supervision and coordination of installation, commissioning and ongoing monitoring and reporting. Managed repower of over 60 marine vessel repower projects involving Detroit Diesel, MTU, Cummins, Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, Isuzu, and Volvo engines. OceanAir has given many training seminars to government and industry officials on air pollution control. |
